Victor L. Hymes
Mr. Hymes is the President & CEO of Legato Capital Management, LLC, and brings more than 35 years of investment experience to this role.
Prior to founding Legato in 2004, he held the positions of Chief Investment Officer and COO at Cazenave Partners, LLC.
Before joining Cazenave Partners, Mr. Hymes spent ten years managing investment portfolios for public and corporate pension funds, Taft-Hartley and eleemosynary clients at Scudder, Stevens & Clark, Inc. Following Scudder’s reorganization as Zurich Scudder Investments, Inc., he headed Zurich’s $80 billion North American institutional business.
Mr. Hymes’ professional career began with nearly a decade of work at Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and Kidder Peabody & Co.
He received his undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mr. Hymes is a board member of the Brookings Institution and National Audubon Society, where he serves on their Investment Committees. He is an Independent Director for the Principal Funds, Inc., where he serves on the Nominating and Governance Committee and chairs the Audit Committee.
Diana D. Tamhankar, CIMA®
Ms. Tamhankar is the Chief Investment Strategist and a Member of the Executive Committee at Legato Capital Management, LLC
Prior to joining Legato in 2015, she was an Investment Research Analyst Manager within the Investment Management Consulting Group at Charles Schwab.
From 2011 to 2015, Ms. Tamhankar provided nationwide research and consultative sales on Schwab’s retail and institutional platforms. For five years, she was a FINRA Registered Associate with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and prior to this, spent three years as a Financial Analyst with Citibank.
Ms. Tamhankar received her undergraduate degree from San Jose State University with a major in Business Administration and International Business. She received her MBA from Notre Dame de Namur University and has received the designation Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®).
Benjamin L. Hymes
Mr. Hymes is a Senior Vice President and Senior Research Analyst at Legato Capital Management, LLC.
Legato utilizes entrepreneurial investment managers to create customized solutions for institutional clients.
Mr. Hymes is a member of the firm’s investment team and has responsibilities for both manager research and a number of client relationships. In 2017, he received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco. Prior to joining Legato in 2017, Mr. Hymes interned with the firm for three consecutive summers. Mr. Hymes completed the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Program in 2018.
Whitney M. Shafer, CFA
Ms. Shafer is a Vice President and Director of Portfolio Administration at Legato Capital Management, LLC.
Ms. Shafer’s responsibilities span both manager research and portfolio administration.
Prior to joining Legato in 2022, she was a Senior Analyst at High Pointe Capital Management, LLC. Ms. Shafer worked for sixteen years on fundamental and quantitative analysis of equity investments across US and International markets, trading, performance measurement and client reporting for institutional and individual clients.
Prior to that she interned at Merrill Lynch for one year. Ms. Shafer graduated from University of Wisconsin with a BS in Economics and Personal Finance. She became a Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder in 2009.
